Our counter seating tables offer a tabletop that wraps around our staircase, or around a feature pillar to the side of the restaurant. Guests will be seated next to one another, shoulder-to-shoulder as opposed to opposite one another (like a traditional restaurant table). Our counter seating around the staircase faces our bar and vinyl decks and can accommodate up to 4 guests on high back chairs with footrests. All our counter seating is in the same atmosphere as the restaurant and features in our ‘gallery’.
Our restaurant seating tables seat guests in the traditional sense of sitting opposite one another. Both restaurant and counter seating feature high back chairs with footrests.
Either seating option (‘restaurant or counter seating’) is available at the point of booking subject to availability and will be detailed on your confirmation email.
Yes, our outdoor seating can be reserved. Tables are on the pavement, roadside, heated, and can accommodate up to 4 guests. Dogs are welcome to join on these tables and the full menu is available. We also have a small, covered terrace area around the side of our restaurant for walk-ins with high tables and chairs. As there are no speakers outside, you will not be able to hear the music at any of these tables.
Unfortunately not but if a table becomes available, our Team will be the first to contact you. Please note other guests on the standby list will also be contacted, and availability will be on a first come, first served basis.
Yes, if we have availability, we will absolutely accommodate any walk-ins.
There are a number of great places in the area for drinks, however we would always recommend The Hub on Verulam, right next door to us.
Drinks-only tables are bookable from 9:45PM. If you would like to book a drinks-only table before 9:45PM, please contact our team on 01727 323061 or email us via reservations@hazels-stalbans.co.uk and we will do our best to accommodate.
The largest table size we can accommodate in the restaurant is for upto 10 guests. If you would like to make a booking for between 5 - 10 guests, please contact us at reservations@hazels-stalbans.co.uk.

Depending on bookings, tables of 2 guests have 1 hour 45 minutes, tables of up to 4 guests have 2 hours, and tables of 5 or more guests will enjoy 2 hours 30 minutes. We will only ask for your table back after these timeframes if there is a booking after yours; otherwise, you are welcome to enjoy your table for as long as you like.
As we do not have any bar or holding space, we kindly ask you to arrive on time for your table reservation and notify us with as much notice as possible if you are running late.
All table bookings require valid card details to secure your booking. Card details must be provided within 48 hours of making the booking and failure to do so may result in your table being released or cancelled. Card details are stored securely via our booking platform, and your card will only be charged if you fail to notify us of a cancellation within 24 hours of your booking time.
We require at least 24-hour notice for any cancellation. After this time, the card on file will be charged £25 per person at our discretion. The same applies for any no-shows.
You can make changes to your booking via your confirmation email, under “edit booking” at the bottom of the email. Alternatively, please give us a call or email via reservations@hazels-stalbans.co.uk to make any updates or changes to your booking.

Yes, please notify us at the point of booking of any type of celebration and we will ensure a celebratory plate is prepared in honour of the occasion.
Please notify us in advance if you wish to bring a cake. A cakeage fee may be applicable.
At the point of booking, please notify us of any allergy or dietary requirement and we will do our best to accommodate and ensure a suitable menu is ready on arrival. We can accommodate most allergies or dietary requirements with notice including gluten intolerance.
Please note that due to the small size of both the restaurant and kitchen, we are unable to accommodate any severe allergies ( such as airborne allergens ) and cannot guarantee there is no cross contamination on the premises.
Hazéls concept is inspired by old Japanese Jazz Kissas, also known as listening bars. For this reason, you’ll find the music at Hazéls is louder than background; designed to create a comfortable, laid-back audio exploration and experience for all music lovers to enjoy. We welcome guest selectors (dj’s) to play vinyl through our vintage sound system Wednesday - Saturday and have live jazz performances to soundtrack lunch on a Sunday. Our live jazz plays between 1pm - 4pm.
Unfortunately, not inside the restaurant but if you are sitting at our outside tables, you are welcome to bring your dog / pet.
Hazéls is not a suitable space for children under the age of 12 and therefore we do not offer a children’s menu, have highchairs, or space for prams.
